A Peek Into the Agricultural Lifestyle

Clarissa Ballo, California Polytechnic State University Student

What is Agriculture?

The answer to this question develops, grows, and changes everyday. From raising livestock to agriculture policy to growing crops, agriculture is more than just hard work and a hobby. It is a lifestyle. The agriculture industry supports millions of people through work, food, and ____ through challenges and accomplishments.

As…

I believe that to live and work on a good farm, or to be engaged in other agricultural pursuits, is pleasant as well as challenging; for I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life and hold an inborn fondness for those associations which, even in hours of discouragement, I cannot deny.

About Me

Hey there! As I describe what agriculture means to me above, I am nothing, but proud to say that I am including myself in that group of agriculturists standing strong behind the field of agriculture. Since I was introduced to agriculture and began to figure out what I stand for, I still to this day call myself an advocate for an industry in which I truly believe in. As I moved into this area, showing livestock, riding horses, and being outside doing chores just became everyday work. But as I like to say, it has never been “work.” My passion lies within this field and has continued to grow through my experiences. As an athlete, advocate for the beef industry, and a handy livestock gal, this blog touches on my perspective and experiences within the agriculture industry.
